1st Pass is seeking to hire an In-Office, Full-Time Payment Poster, for Physician Billing to join our team in Forney, TX.
Job Summary The Physician Biller works under the direct supervision of the Billing Manager in cooperation with other staff providing pre-billing and coding services in compliance with 1st Pass' established proprietary standards and processes.
Responsible for billing functions including insurance verification, patient eligibility and payment posting but with a willingness to learn all aspects of the revenue cycle management function allowing for growth opportunity.
Preparing and transmitting claims using billing software, perform monthly charge reconciliation, performs manual charge entry for all non-automated claim sites of services and all other duties as assigned by their direct supervisor and/or the CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyzes patient care reports, scrubs data through insurance verification websites and applies appropriate HCPC code to each claim assuring the most accurate payer.
This includes HCPT, diagnosis, modifier, bundling, duplicate charge, and custom edit resolution.
Requires strong knowledge of each client, commercial payor regulations and guidelines, internal revenue cycle coding processes and ambulance specific service line billing practices.
Requires the ability to read the electronic patient care report and apply appropriate level of service, HCPC code(s), diagnosis code(s) and modifiers (if applicable).
Serves as a resource to the Billing Team, Outsourced Vendors, Clients, and the CEO Perform monthly charge reconciliation.
Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries.
Periodically communicate patient balance and patient-responsibility amounts to clients and/or patient/families, responding to requests for information.
Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education (GED) Certified Medical Billing and Coding, and/or physician billing experience required.
1-2 year recent medical billing experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of all commercial payor databases Great computer skills with a willingness to learn our billing platform and electronic patient care reporting system Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent impersonal skills and telephone communication Excellent organization and time management skills Ability to identify and resolve problems Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintain in standard workflow Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff, and coworkers Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and protected patient information Ability to work effectively as a team player and provide superior customer service to all staff and leadership while growing at a fast pace including the addition of new service lines over the next 12 months.
