Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Knowledge of subjects/programs assignedGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Student teaching or approved internship (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as requiredPrepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning stylesPresent subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulationsPlan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assignedConduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activitiesWork cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula/instruction as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP)Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirementsPlan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) if assignedUse technology to strengthen the teaching/learning processHelp students analyze and improve study methods and habitsConduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testingAssume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned; sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principalBe a positive role model for students, support the mission of the school districtCreate classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of studentsManage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbookTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesAssist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materialsEstablish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachersMaintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community membersUse effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearlyCompile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents requiredParticipate in staff development activities to improve job-related skillsKeep informed of and comply with laws as well as district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachersAttend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as requiredMaintain confidentialityParticipate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events as assignedPerform other duties as assigned WORKING CONDITIONS:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
